NSF REU: Nanotechnology Enabled Water Treatment (NEWT)

From the NEWT website: By participating in NEWT, you will gain access to a multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional research team, learn about research in nanotechnology applied to water treatment, and build your professional network of peers, letter writers, and mentors.

Are you an undergrad at one of our partner institutions?

You can experience the world of scientific research in our labs and join our community of scientists and engineers. Explore the research being conducted at NEWT and learn about the people behind it by browsing NEWT faculty websites. If you are interested in working with one of them, contact them directly or contact us. You can also learn about NEWT through courses taught by our faculty in our four institutions.

Are you a community college student in the El Paso, Houston, or Phoenix areas?

The NEWT Research Experience for Community College Students (REU) is a 10-week summer internship designed to provide community college students with hands-on research experience in NEWT labs. This paid internship also provides training in poster elaboration, how to deliver a successful scientific poster presentation, and write a research abstract. At the end of the program, participants present their work at the Smalley-Curl Institute Summer Research Colloquium. You can learn about the experience from past participants in the NEWT REU blog.
